Tettenhall Towers Mansion
Saturday 21st August 2010

Location: Tettenhall,  Wolverhampton

Tettenhall Towers Mansion, dates back to early part of the eighteenth century and was built by Thomas Pearson in 1771 on the site of the old Hollybush inn.

In 1851 the stone Georgian house with the two towers and rather gaunt-looking Victorian extension, was bought by the eccentric Col. Thomas Thorneycroft who made many structural additions during the 1860's, which includes a theatre within the building.

Although now an active and thriving school, the place is still dominated by the spirit of Col. Thorneycroft - and the Colonel was very spirited indeed.

The team investigated the rabbit warren of hallways and rooms and found this NEW venue is definitely worth further investigation due to the other spiritual residents we came across during our night. Including the presents of a lady in the Attic and children in the Dolls House.

With access to 95% of the site, which includes the following: - Cellar, Theatre/Great Hall, Attic and The Dolls House, all situated on at least 3 levels, we shall be returning in 2011

Reporter: Barbara Brindle - Green Team Report

Some of our guest's names have been mentioned within this report

9.45 pm Dolls House - Temp 19.9
As soon as we entered we all heard a taping sound in the room next to the adjacent small room  and the temperature went down from 19.9 to 15.0 within minutes

Dave was picking up on a female spirit, at this point we all heard a noise that seemed to be coming from above, Lynne was starting to feel a bit sick as she was picking up a little girl by the name of 'Sarah' who was about ten years old. She thought she may have had something to do with how she was feeling, and Lynne continued that she didn’t like the nanny who was looking after her and it was thought that she had been locked up in here.

The nanny was also thought to be of German nationality and the year was 1910 to 1920.  Lynne said she was feeling disoriented in here and as we was leaving Gemma said she was getting an headache.

We then moved onto the stairs and Lynne said she was picking up a ball bouncing down the stairs and also a male spirit standing at the top of the stairs who didn’t like to be called 'Sir'.  The name she got for this man was 'Bert' and his office was at the top of the stairs.  It was sensed that he was a janitor and he didn’t like people sitting on the stairs because he thought it was too dangerous.

11.0 pm The Auditorium/Theatre - Temperature 22.7
(As we were on our way to the Auditorium Ashley told me when he was down in the cellar he picked up a mail spirit called 'Elliot Grandfield'.)

The temperature went down from 22.7 to 19.2 and Gemma said she was feeling a draught on her hands and something seemed to startle Janet and she said her legs was starting to feel really cold and others was sensing someone up in the balcony. Then a noise was heard at the back of the auditorium. Pete said he could feel it going really cold.  Bev got touched on her head and she said her chair felt like it was rocking then we all heard a very loud noise in the wings at the back of the stage

12.40 am The Cellar  - Temp 21.1
Straight away Lee said he was feeling draughts on his neck and I was feeling as though something was brushing passed my legs and in the small room at the back Lynne said she was being touched on the side of her face near her ear not in a nice way by male spirit then Lynne said that she felt like he was trying to break her leg and she said that he was trying to get her out of the area because of something criminal what he did in there when he was alive, Dave said his back felt like it was freezing then Janet was very startled and upset. She said she saw a shadow shape coming towards her and that really shook her up.  We then heard footsteps above us and Dave shouted up asking who was there.  Hhe shouted about five times, shouting louder each time but he didn’t get a response, we checked with the other teams and nobody said they were in that area.

2.00am The Flag Room  - Temp 19.0
Scrying was done in here and Bev said she could see a man with straight grey hair and dark side burns she got the name 'Arthur Mason' and a female called 'Connie Mason' then she said she was getting a 'Lisa' and a 'Joe'.  Then she said she was picking up horse shoes and a cart with saddles in the back.  We then decided to move on to the music room and in here Paul said he was beginning to feel cob webs on his face and feeling heavy round the head.

3.15am Balcony
This was our last vigil of the night.  We split up in two groups, one half of us up in the balcony the other half in the auditorium. Lynne picked up the name 'Arthur' and Dave said he was getting a very strong draught going across his arm.

Then Lynne suddenly said she saw a figure that seemed to run from the direction of the window to the other side of the balcony.  Dave felt the strong draught again going across his arm and Lynne got the feeling that somebody went over the balcony by accident because they was looking at something that was below.
